Stand Strong

Life is not meant to be easy my child; but take courage: it can be delightful. -George Bernard Shaw
At least every 2 days I come across a photo or artwork whose appeal I find virtually impossible to resist. The original, unaltered pics from which I made this montage were no exception and I am very grateful to Mer i969, a fellow photo aficionado for allowing me to give these pics, which he called The Splash, that little extra TLC. Am also glad for his written consent to freely apply my interpretation of the two pics in the form of a sequential filmstrip, the accompanying words I keyed on the montage among other things & to share it with friends & family.
Something stuck in my mind on seeing the pics and especially lil’ gal’s reaction: Courage. The girl’s unfaltering courage is the perfect reminder that:
-“Courage is the most important of all virtues, because without it we can’t practice any other virtue with consistency”- Maya Angelou
- “Audacity augments courage; hesitation, fear ” – Publius Syrus
- “Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear- not absence of fear” –Mark Twain
And to the little boy in red I would teasingly say:
- “Courage is the knowledge of how to fear what ought to be feared and how not to fear what ought not be feared” – David Ben Guiron
- “A Coward dies a thousand deaths, a soldier dies but once” 2Pac
- “Whatever you are trying to avoid won’t go away until you confront it” –Anon
To everyone else: Stand Strong because:F.E.A.R = False Evidence Appearing Real, and...

@ Guesss, Oh,thanks a bunch & ain't I happy that you find the photos & posts interesting?
-Choice of highway? Your daring character speaks for you so I know we'll most definitely be doing 90mph on the 6/17 West highway:)!

@ Farmgal, gotta tell you again: you're the sweetest so I'll understand if my candy of a blog gives you cavities, lol! With a pal like you, it's the main highway until we hit the sandy shores...remember to bring the giant burger & clan-size diet coke you got on your blog,lol...x10!! Have no fear, nisharudi sasa:))

@ Guess, you know you gotta be a worthy friend for me to comment on this one separately:) I would only let you hit 17/32 South to make sure the cowards & quitters stay gone, lol!! Thanks a lot!

@ Nick, sorry for going AWOL & a double pole for when you were taken ill...kept saying will drop u a line to say hang in there, take a rest and stock up on cofta(do we still have those back home?),but am back like Venus Williams, very energised.
Thanks for the compliments & hey that helicofta, er..helicopter had to be done:))

I love the way you described the little girl btw. Its always interesting to here people's perceptions on something that is supposed to be viewed differently. Thats what is so beautiful about it!

I love what you do with photographs i.e. working them in a such a way that they tell a profound story. For anyone else, this would have been just a simple photo but not for you, akiey. Well done - and I can clearly see the little girl's courage.

@Akiey - U know I love it when I dont have to explain myself to my friends, right? That kinda puts you in my wings; the kind that makes me fly: (this will make me hugely unpopular, but heck, what we do for friends eh?

Some find it in their solitary lives
You'll find it in the words of others
A simple line can make you laugh or cry

You'll find it in the deepest friendship
The kind you cherish all your life
And when you know how much that means
You've found that special thing
You're flying without wings

@Sunflower, Thanks for the kind words, I had this pic stuck in my mind for about 2 days & knew there was something the little girl was saying...though not directly. Highway 17 West it is for you too blogmate:)

@mshairi,my favourite Wordsmith:)) Am glad you feel/see the non-verbal message in the photo(s). Something I've come learn since this obession with photos: strive to make simple of complex things and complex of otherwise simple things. Bet you know I should be inspired by the little girl as well:)

Y'all better make space for me on route 6!!

Thanks Akiey. I know I'm late to this but you helped life a sagging spirit that little bit higher.

To add to your collection: Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice that says "I will try again tomorrow"

One love!
